Refresh pupils’ English and maths skills with our fun, free resources

Help your pupils get back on track and feel more confident with their English and Maths with our free resources and intervention programme. These free football-themed packs are designed to support children with various different skills across the English and Maths curriculum.

English 

Premier League Reading Stars (KS2)
This 10-week intervention programme created with the National Literacy Trust aims to engage reluctant readers in Years 5 and 6 using their love of football. Improve pupils’ comprehension, inference skills, and enjoyment of reading with our lesson plans, videos and activities.

Premier League Primary Stars spelling challenge (KS1 and KS2)
Practise spelling with your class using our spelling challenge game, video and quick-fire Solve, Shoot, Score game featuring Premier League football players. 

All together now (KS2)
Develop pupils’ creative writing, language and form through this letter-writing resource pack, exploring how sport can bring friends, families and communities together.

Maths

Team Selection Challenge (KS1 and KS2)
Covering mathematical reasoning, problem-solving, statistics and analysing data, these resources apply mathematical knowledge in a football context.

The Premier League Maths challenge (KS2)
This pack helps pupils practise mental multiplication, focusing on number and place value, mathematical symbols and more.

Handling Data in Football (KS2)
Analyse football statistics by presenting and interpreting data using bar charts. Pupils can also examine and compare bar charts in order to solve a range of mathematical problems alongside presenter Rachel Riley.
