[INTRO MUSIC]

>>CHILDREN: Premier League Primary Stars!

>> CHILD 1: This is called Jumping Light Years.

>> CHILD 2: And we're developing our jumping.

>> CHILD 3: And I jumped really far.

>> COACH: This activity provides a fun way for pupils to jump for distance as an individual and as part of a team to see how far they can jump. Pupils will learn to demonstrate and explain jumping for distance, observe, make judgements and provide feedback to peers. You will need mats and cones. This game is called Jumping Light Years. We have to be astronauts. Who is ready to be an astronaut?

>> CHILDREN: Me!

>> COACH: I have an astronaut manager. My astronaut manager uses the star marks to look at how well our astronaut is jumping. This is my rocket engineer. My rocket engineer is going to stand at the side. And when I make a jump, they're going to place the cone behind the back of my feet. This is my rocket mechanic. They are going to check that the astronaut's toes are behind the line.

>> COACH + CHILDREN: - Are you ready? - Yes. - Steady? Go. - Yeah.

[BACKGROUND MUSIC]

>> CHILD 4: I think you should swing your arms a bit more and jump higher.

>> COACH: How did you prepare to jump?

>> CHILD 5: You got your arms ready and you bent your legs and got springy toes.

>> CHILDREN: Good.

>> COACH: So how did you land?

>> CHILD 5: Put both feet on the floor and got your arms ready, out to balance.

[MUSIC RESUMES]

>> COACH: This time, it's a competition. So we want to see how far you can jump in five jumps. We're going to jump as far as we can. The next person's going to come and jump, and the next person, and the next person. And that is how far my team has gone. Okay, are you ready?

>> CHILDREN: Yes.

>> COACH + CHILDREN:- Steady? - Yes.

>> COACH: Go. Where's that boom?

>> CHILD 6: Boom!

[CHILDREN SHOUT]

>> COACH: I would recommend this activity to other primary school teachers because it's so easy to set up with minimal equipment and the star marks are there, so that it's easy to follow.

>> CHILDREN: - Be... - Inspiring.
- Be... - Ambitious.
- Be... - Connected.
- Be... - Fair.
