Television presenter and mathematician Rachel Riley introduces this challenge. Read more and take part!
We want all the members of your household to take part in our maths training activity. TV presenter and mathematician Rachel Riley is here with everything you need to know.
So, grab a washing basket, bucket or box, some rolled up pairs of socks, a pen and paper.
Decide where the throw line will be, then grab the socks, stand behind the line and then see how many you can throw into the basket in 30 seconds. Depending on how fast you are and how many pairs of socks you have, you might need to quickly retrieve the socks, run back to the throw line and carry on for the 30 seconds.
Make a note of how many socks hit the target in that time for each member of the household. Then, using that data, draw a bar chart showing each person’s score.
If you don’t have these items available at home, you can change the activity to use items you do have.
Head to PLPrimaryStars.com to download the Bar chart challenge worksheet from our Handling Data in Football resources to help you create your bar charts.
