Premier League Writing Stars: Ambition KS2

This pack uses the new poem Beautiful Ambition by Karl Nova to help your pupils learn about ambition through poetry and help them write their own poem to enter the Premier League Writing Stars competition. Submit your pupils' entries online or by post using the Class entry form below. There is an Entry activity sheet which needs to be used for submitting pupils' poems.

Learning outcomes

Pupils will be able to:

  • work collaboratively in a team
  • plan their writing through discussion and recording
  • read a review a range of poetry
  • learn to appreciate rhymes and poems
  • draft and write by composing and rehearsing and building a rich vocabulary
  • read aloud their own writing.

This activity prompts pupils to think about what the word ambition means to them, creating a word bank and building this into poems to enter into the competition.
