Premier League Primary Stars Inspires 1.4 million Pupils in 23/24.
The Premier League Primary Stars programme has reached over 19,000 schools and more than 70,000 teachers since 2017, reaching around 1.4 million pupils in the 2023-24 academic year alone.
At the heart of the Premier League Primary Stars programme is a commitment to empowering teachers and inspiring pupils. Premier League Primary Stars offers every primary school in England and Wales over 650 free curriculum-linked resources across subjects like PE, PSHE, English, and Maths.
Funded by the Premier League, through the Premier League Charitable Fund, Premier League Primary Stars uses the appeal of football to help pupils be active and develop essential life skills.
Our resources feature professional footballers like Harry Kane, Mason Mount and Chloe Kelly, adding a unique and exciting dimension to the lessons. Seeing professional footballers like Demi Stokes and Leah Williamson (who visited schools this year as part of the girls' kit scheme) within the resources highlights how they are not just role models on the field; through Premier League Primary Stars, they also inspire pupils to achieve their best in sports, academics, and life outside of school.
A key aspect of the Premier League Primary Stars programme is its collaboration with educational experts and organisations, including the National Literacy Trust, PSHE Association, BBC, and Stonewall. These collaborations ensure that resources are relevant and aligned to current teaching standards and needs.
“The resources were fantastic for improving teamwork and collaboration, skills my students struggled with initially. The excitement these resources brought to subjects made a noticeable difference in their engagement and progress," said Amy McAvoy, a TikTok creator and teacher in South West London, who is one of thousands of teachers who regularly use Premier League Primary Stars resources in the classroom.
Looking Ahead: A New School Year with New Opportunities
As the new school year approaches, the Premier League Primary Stars programme is set to build on existing campaigns, create fresh resources and offer teachers exciting opportunities. You can expect additional resources to support Anti-Bullying Week (made in partnership with the Anti-Bullying Alliance), Challenging Gender Stereotypes as well as new social action activities to help pupils give back to their communities.
