Our Plastic Pollution Challenge with Sky Ocean Rescue asked schools to create pledges about how they were helping to turn the tide on ocean plastic pollution, by tackling single-use plastics in their school and local community.
Pupils from the ten shortlisted schools were invited to spend a day at the Sky Academy Studios in London to create their own Sky News story about how they were taking action, from cleaning up their local beach to curbing plastic bag use in their school.
Watch our roundup of the films above. Why not use the full-length films available here to inspire your school to take action too?
The top film selected by our judges will now go on to receive a school visit from Plasticus – the Sky Ocean Rescue whale made entirely out of recycled plastic, and the Premier League Trophy.
Although this competition has now closed, you can still use our supporting resource pack to encourage children to get involved, learn about what Premier League clubs are doing about this issue and the role everyone can play in protecting both the local and global environment.
