Summary
The Premier League is committed to ending racism in football and wider society. Use this pack to teach pupils about the negative impacts of racism and what we can do to tackle it. Play the films to hear from professional football players who celebrate cultural diversity in the game.
This pack enables pupils to learn about the differences between race and ethnicity, what it means to be an ally and what we can do to end racism.
Refer to the Teacher guidance document and the General guidance document for teaching PSHE before delivering this lesson.

This short clip includes a number of professional football players celebrating diversity and talking about allyship in football.
Starter activity: What is racism?
This starter activity allows pupils to reflect on their own experiences of being treated unfairly to help them understand the concept of racism.
Main activity: How does racism make people feel?
In this activity, pupils will think about and discuss the impacts of racism. Use the 'How does racism make people feel?' activity sheets to support pupils and facilitate classroom discussion.
There are two versions to choose from.
Plenary activity: How can we act with solidarity towards others?
Pupils will learn about allyship and how they can be a good ally and challenge racist behaviour.
Extra time: Design a poster
As an extension activity, set this task for pupils to design their own poster to show why allies are important and write a class pledge.
This could be set as a home learning activity.
